Improvements done in one's vehicle may make the owner think that he or she may have changed the value of the car, insurance-wise. That depends on the improvements, though, whether the value of a car would increase or decrease in value. Re-painting a vehicle or having new tires, an old transmission or engine installed, all have an effect on the value of a vehicle. If these changes happen, the insured should discuss them with an adjuster of the insurance company. Regular changes like oil changes or changes in spark plugs and small mechanical jobs, which keep the car's condition good doesn't really affect the car's value.
