How does my insurer determine the actual cash value of my vehicle?

Posted on: 2011-12-21

In a car insurance company, it is an appraiser that determines the actual cash value of a vehicle. The determination of the actual cash value of a vehicle would require the appraiser to use a database for the sale prices of similar vehicles in the insured's area. The car appraiser will also consider the condition of the vehicle before any accident happened, causing damage to the car, including, but not limited to, options, mileage, and any prior damage that may have happened before the accident.
